Clywedog lies 2hrs west of Birmingham and 2hrs north of Cardiff.

From the midlands from the M6 follow M54 to Shrewsbury then the A458 towards Welshpool then the A483 towards Newtown, Through Newtown its the A 489 and then the A470 towards Llanidloes where you can purchase tickets  and the lake is sign posted from the town. The boat moorings and most of the bank fishing are located at the western side of the lake.

From South Wales

Head north from Brecon or Talgarth on the A 470 towards Builth Wells and Rhayader Turn right at the roundabout before Llangurig towards Llanidloes where you can purchase your tickets and the lake is sign posted. The baot moorings and most of the bank fishing are located at the western side of the lake.
